WICKLOW EN­TRIES IN THE FI­NAL

SIX pupils from pri­mary schools in Wicklow have made it through to the fi­nals of this year’s Doo­dle 4 Google com­pe­ti­tion.

The lucky win­ner will win a €10,000 IT fund for their school as well as a €5000 schol­ar­ship and have their doo­dle dis­played on the Google home page for 24 hours.

Vot­ing opened yesterday, Fe­bru­ary 7 and will re­main open un­til Fe­bru­ary 21. Two pupils at St Kevin’s NS, Laragh, Glen­dalough, have pro­gressed to the fi­nals.

Ciara Finn cre­ated a teddy bear mak­ing ma­chine doo­dle and a gar­den for mice to play with a rocket. Taran Scott, also from Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa cre­ated a doo­dle of a ma­chine that could wash, brush, blowdry and snip his pet labradoo­dle’s fur. Olivia Ladouari, Glebe Na­tional School drew a doo­dle of Happy Lion while her fel­low Glebe NS pupil Evan Fitzpatrick’s doo­dle re­flected his dream to travel in space.

Kevin Whe­lan from Scoil Nái­si­unta Phádraig Naofa, Avoca drew a ro­bot-themed de­sign while Roisin Fur­long from Grey­stones Ed­u­cate To­gether drew a doo­dle of how the world could be made bet­ter by cur­ing dis­ease and stop­ping cli­mate change.
