Well done to the U12 hurlers who trav­elled to Wex­ford last Fri­day night to take part in the Castle­town In­door Hurl­ing tour­na­ment.

The lads were un­lucky to lose 3-1 to the hosts in the open­ing game but fol­lowed this up with an ex­cel­lent 3-1 win over Craan­ford be­fore draw­ing 4-4 with Glynn Barn­town in what was the game of the night.

Great to see a Wicklow hurl­ing team com­pet­ing so strongly against its Wex­ford coun­ter­parts. Keep up the good work lads! The panel on the night was Sam Cul­leton, Rory Hen­nessy, Bill O’Brien, Matt Glee­son, Billy Joe Con­nors, Jim Stafford, Tom Phe­lan, Harry Tobin Kelly, Calum Doyle, De­nis O’Brien, Johnno Moore­house and Fionn Greene. The team is back down in Castle­town in two weeks’ time for round 2 of the tour­na­ment.

MES­SAGE FOR GIRLS HEAD­ING TO MANCH­ESTER - All those go­ing on Manch­ester trip are re­quested to pay the bal­ance on/be­fore 10th March. This should be given to John McGet­ti­gan. Con­grat­u­la­tions to our county hurlers on their win over Roscom­mon in Ath­league by 2-17 to 7 in a good show­ing from Sea­mus Mur­phy’s men in the Na­tional Hurl­ing League. . Well done to our own Ge­orge O’Brien who came in for spe­cial men­tion in the for­wards and our own lads Eoghan O’Ma­hony, John Con­nors, Andy O’Brien, Ge­orge O’Brien, Gerry Con­nors, Michael Con­nors, Christy Moore­house and coach Michael Neary on a win­ning start.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to the county un­der-21 foot­ballers who had a nice re­sult against Down in St Mar­garet’s (Dublin) win­ning on a score line of 1-11 to 1-08.

Best of luck to our own Ian Mur­phy and all in­volved in the county un­der-21 foot­ballers when they take on Louth in Baltinglass on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 22.

Dublin LGFA se­nior In­ter County man­age­ment team are host­ing a coach­ing work­shop in DCU St Clare’s on Sun­day March 5th.

The aim of the work­shop is to help club coaches in­tro­duce the key skills of the game in an in­no­va­tive stim­u­lat­ing fun way. The coach­ing work­shop will run from 11:30am to 15:30pm in St Clare’s DCU - with reg­is­tra­tions tak­ing place from 11:00am. Work­shop fee is just €50 which in­cludes lunch. The Dublin Ladies Se­nior foot­ball team will be demon­strat­ing the skills on the day. Every Thurs­day for six weeks from Fe­bru­ary 9 from 7-8pm. St. Pat’s and the Camogie As­so­ci­a­tion are run­ning the very suc­cess­ful “Come Hurl with Me” pro­gramme for par­ent and daugh­ters in the hall, Dun­bur. This is for girls born in 2007/2008/2009/2010.

Hel­mets and hurls will be avail­able on the night for those who are try­ing camogie for the first time!

St. Pa­tricks GAA Club have launched the 2017 ver­sion of our Last Man Stand­ing fundrais­ing com­pe­ti­tion for our club. Hard luck to those of you who fell this week. There were 21 of you in to­tal. There are 75 peo­ple re­main­ing.

We had no jack­pot win­ners in our Club Lotto this week! Num­bers drawn were 13, 17, 23 and 28. The bonus num­ber was 18.
