APPEAL FOR CULTURE NIGHT EVENT HOSTS
WICKLOW Arts Office is calling on arts and cultural organisations around the county to get involved with this year’s Culture Night.
2017 marks Wicklow’s eight year of participation in the national event, which takes place in September and features a broad spectrum of events which are free to the public.
Organisers would like to hear from all sorts of individuals and groups who are interested in hosting events, including artists, performing groups, galleries, museums, sports clubs, libraries, arts centres, craft workers, studios, theatres, broadcasters, schools, community groups, transport companies, universities, shops and more.
‘ This year we are also interested in working with commercial companies who feel they may have something to add to Culture Night.
‘We are also keen to have organisations promote and support events in their area so please feel free to coordinate with other organisations in your area to provide the best events possible,’ said Lian Bell, Wicklow Culture Night Coordinator.
‘If you, your group or venue is interested in participating, we would love to hear from you in Tinahely. and talk about your proposal.
‘All Culture Night events must be free of charge and priority will be given to those events happening exclusively for Culture Night.
‘We will also be paying particular attention to the scheduling of the events to try and avoid overlap that can reduce audiences for all, so we would ask you to be flexible in your proposed event time,’ added
Proposals and applications for funding can be made by submitting the event details to Lian at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for funding applications is Thursday, July 20, at 4 p.m..
Funding and decisions will be made by Wicklow County Arts Office.
Guidelines and further information will soon be available at www.wicklow.ie under Other Services/Arts Office.
