Fun in the sun for the kids

LIT­TLE Bray Com­mu­nity Cen­tre Af­ter School Project hosted a sports day in the sun last week.

The lo­cal chil­dren en­joyed a fan­tas­tic day in the sun with ac­tiv­i­ties or­gan­ised by the helpers from the CE scheme at the cen­tre as well as child­care worker Au­drey Kelly.

They also got to play with a gi­ant ‘Snakes & Ladders’ game which they made dur­ing the year.

Chil­dren aged five to 12 took part in the sports day, which in­cluded games such as the three-legged race, egg and spoon race and re­lay, as well as a tug of war and penalty shoot out.

The chil­dren came from a range of dif­fer­ent schools in the area.

Au­drey ex­plained that they held some small fundrais­ing events in ad­vance to raise money for medals, cer­tifi­cates and sup­plies.

Chil­dren re­ceived cer­tifi­cates, medals and tro­phies. The pro­gramme holds a num­ber events through­out the year, in­clud­ing the pop­u­lar ‘splash day’.
