Re­source Cen­tre Hours: St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre is open 9 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Mon­day to Thurs­day and on Fri­day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those re­quir­ing Bap­tism/Con­fir­ma­tion cer­tifi­cates or ap­pli­ca­tion forms for bap­tism can ob­tain them dur­ing the above hours. Please note that the parish of­fice is the only place where cer­tifi­cates and ap­pli­ca­tion forms can be pro­cessed.

Mass Times: Mass is cel­e­brated in St Anne’s Church at 10 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Mon­day to Fri­day (ex­cept July, Au­gust and Septem­ber). Week­end Mass times are Satur­day 6.30 p.m. Vigil Mass and on Sun­day at 8 a.m., 10.30 a.m. (Fam­ily Mass), mid­day, and 6 p.m. Con­fes­sions are heard on Satur­days af­ter the 10 a.m. Mass, be­tween 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m., and af­ter the 6.30 p.m. Mass. Mass is now broad­cast on­line and can be viewed by log­ging onto the parish web­site: stannes­parishshankill.com and then click­ing onto video link.

Evening Mass: Please note that there will be No Evening Masses for the months of July, Au­gust and Septem­ber. Evening Mass will re­sume on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 2, sum­mer Week­day Church Hours: St Anne’s Church will close at the fol­low­ing times over the sum­mer months (Ju­ly1st to Oc­to­ber 1) Mon­day to Thurs­day at 4.45 p.m. and on Fri­day at 2.45 p.m.

St Pa­trick’s Chapel, Lough­lin­stown: The cel­e­bra­tion of the Sun­day 9 a.m. Mass has now ceased in the chapel and will not re­sume till es­sen­tial main­te­nance has been com­pleted.

Bap­tism Times: Bap­tisms take place in St Anne’s Church at 1 p.m. on the first Sun­day of the month and at 5 p.m. on the sec­ond and fourth Satur­days of the month. A month’s no­tice is re­quired. Please con­tact the St Anne’s parish of­fice lo­cated in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre to make your ar­range­ments. Please note that when vis­it­ing the parish of­fice to ar­range a bap­tism, the child’s birth cer­tifi­cate should be brought as it nec­es­sary to photo- copy it for the parish records but it will be re­turned im­me­di­ately.

Pre-Bap­tism Meet­ings: Pre-Bap­tism Meet­ings are held on the last Thurs­day of ev­ery month for par­ents pre­sent­ing their chil­dren for bap­tism the fol­low­ing month.

Room Hire – St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre: At pre­sent we have avail­abil­ity in the cen­tre for room hire. If you are in­ter­ested in run­ning your class or course please con­tact Melissa Tobin at 01 2822777 for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion. Fa­cil­i­ties in­clude Free car park, tea or cof­fee, Use of white­board and pro­jec­tor, Flipchart Stands, three rooms avail­able with ca­pac­ity for 80 peo­ple, 25 peo­ple, or 15 peo­ple.

Feast of St Joachim and St Anne – to­day (Wed­nes­day): The feast of St Joachim and St Anne Mass will take place to­day at 10 a.m. St Anne and St Joachim were the par­ents to the Blessed Vir­gin Mary. We ask God, to help all par­ents and grand­par­ents to teach, lis­ten and ad­vise our chil­dren in a way that is pleas­ing to God. We ask God to bless par­ents who pro­vide life­long care and guardian­ship to their chil­dren; that they may never loose faith and are com­forted by God’s love. We pray also, for par­ents in our com­mu­nity and around the world, who are strug­gling to pro­vide for their chil­dren. We ask God to give them courage and as­sist them in their daily lives. Amen.

Ado­ra­tion of the Most Blessed Sacra­ment: The UAC hold Ado­ra­tion of the Blessed Sacra­ment from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 22nd of each month. This is a world­wide ini­tia­tive by the Pal­lot­tine Fam­ily to pray for vo­ca­tions to the Priest­hood and the Re­li­gious Life. Mag­ni­fi­cat Prayer Book: Au­gust copies of the Mag­ni­fi­cat Prayer Book are now avail­able in the parish of­fice for €6. It con­tains the read­ings and prayers for Mass for each day. It also con­tains med­i­ta­tions, lives of the Saints, and prayers for Morn­ing and Evening based on the Li­turgy of the Hours. Please let us know in the parish of­fice if you would like us to re­serve a copy each month for you.

July Film Night: Takes place this Satur­day at 8 p.m. in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre. The film be­ing screened is Cole Porter’s ‘High So­ci­ety’ star­ring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Si­na­tra with Louis Arm­strong with his band. Ad­mis­sion free – all wel­come.

Mary’s Dowry Course: This course con­cludes to­day (Wed­nes­day) af­ter 10 a.m. morn­ing Mass at 10.30 a.m. in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre.

Min­istry: We would like to en­cour­age and appeal to par­ish­ioners to con­sider com­mit­ting their time to­wards a Min­istry in St Anne’s, be­gin­ning in Septem­ber till June 2018. BOOK SALE

The Au­gust First Satur­day Book Sale, which sup­ports the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion and Meals on Wheels, will take place be­tween 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Satur­day, Au­gust 5, in Shankill Old Folks Cen­tre. Lower Road, Shankill, so make a point of call­ing into the book sale on that Satur­day morn­ing and avail of the op­por­tu­nity to pick up some ex­cel­lent read­ing ma­te­rial for the sum­mer. Do­na­tions of books, other than school/text books, ac­cepted on the day. Please note that pho­tographs and me­mo­rial cards found in do­nated books can be col­lected at the book sale.

SHANKILL GAA CLUB

Our Academy is tak­ing a break for the sum­mer hol­i­days and will be back in ac­tion on Satur­day, Au­gust 19, at 10 a.m. in Shanganagh Cas­tle. Our older teams may have some friendly matches or blitz games over the sum­mer – your man­ager will be in con­tact.

At the club sum­mer camp re­cently one of our coaches was none other than Su­per Dub Con O’Cal­laghan, scorer of 12 points against Kil­dare and also ‘Man of the Match’ in that game. Con made many new friends in Shankill and what mem­o­ries our young play­ers will have of be­ing coached by him for the week Well done Dublin and also Shankill where our sum­mer camp coaches, Steve Davis. James En­nis, Molly Lamb, Amy Con­nolly, Emma McDon­agh, Sarah McCaf­fery, Grainne O’Driscoll and the man him­self Con O’Cal­laghan were ‘Sim­ply the Best’. Roll on next year.
