SOC­CER NOTES

A friendly game against TEK kicks off a busy Week­end for En­niskerry YC soc­cer club, fol­lowed by awards night at a func­tion in Pow­er­scourt Arms Ho­tel. The game is at 3 p.m.

WALK­ERS

Au­gust 1 takes the En­niskerry walk­ers to Prince Williams seat, leav­ing from Curtlestown. On Au­gust 8 the Walk­ers will leave from Wind­sors Spar driv­ing to Bray and tak­ing the Cliff Walk then re­turn­ing back by the Dart.

DARTS

Joe Walsh made his long awaited re­turn to the Pow­er­scourt Arms Darts team with a very good dis­play of pitch­ing, re­sult­ing in a 5-3 win over Ea­gle House from Dun­drum.N ext week will bring the sea­son to an end.

CAR BOOT SALE

There will be an­other car boot sale on 29th in car park op­po­site St Pa­trick’s School at Pow­er­scourt.

LADIES SOC­CER

En­niskerry Ladies Soc­cer team take on Terenure B team tonight in Berry field in the quar­ter fi­nal of the DWSl at 7.30 p.m.

POW­ER­SCOURT/KIL­BRIDE

Ser­vices of Wor­ship in Pow­er­scourt for Sun­day, July 30 – Trin­ity 7: 8.30 a.m. – Holy Com­mu­nion One (Said); 11.30 a.m. – Morn­ing Prayer One.

Daily Prayer and Open Church, mid­day and 5 p.m. each day: Pow­er­scourt Church has re-opened for daily prayer. This year there will be two times of prayer, mid­day and 5 p.m. with the church be­ing open be­tween those times for quiet space and per­sonal prayer.

Car boot sales in aid of Pow­er­scourt Parish Funds – This Satur­day: These take on the last Satur­day of the month in Pow­er­scourt Church – Pad­dock, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The July one takes place this Satur­day. For fur­ther de­tails, con­tact Robert Al­li­son at 086 3835151.

Curtlestown Ceme­tery Clean Up: Con­tin­ues tonight (Wed­nes­day) at 7 p.m. Please bring strim­mers and rakes. We would ap­pre­ci­ate more help to ease the work on our reg­u­lar vol­un­teers who are do­ing great work. Tea served at 8.30 p.m.

An­nual Bless­ing of Graves: Kil­macanogue on Sun­day, Au­gust 20, at 3 p.m.; Curtlestown on Sun­day, Au­gust 27, at 3 p.m.

Used Postage Stamps Needed: Barnar­dos Chil­dren’s Char­ity is look­ing for used stamps. The money raised through the sale of these stamps will go di­rectly to­wards their work with vul­ner­a­ble chil­dren here in Ire­land. If you would like to leave your used stamps in an en­ve­lope in the bas­ket at the back of the church we will for­ward them to Barnar­dos at reg­u­lar in­ter­vals.

Monthly Rosary Group: Meets on the first Mon­day of the month at 7 p.m. in the Prayer room in St Mary’s Church. Next meet­ing is on Mon­day, Au­gust 7, Le­gion of Mary – Kil­macanogue Pre­sid­ium: Meet at 11.30 a.m. ev­ery Tues­day in the Sacristy of St Mo­chonog’s. New mem­bers are most wel­come. The friends of Ben Melia in con­junc­tion with En­niskerry YC AFC are hold­ing a golf clas­sic in Pow­er­scourt Golf Club on Sun­day, Septem­ber 3, The for­mat will be a team of four (any com­bina- tion). The cost is €280 per team in­clud­ing din­ner.
