Stage times for the Groove Festival are announced

THE stage times for the upcoming Groove Festival at Killrudder­y have just been released so festival goers can start planning their weekend’s entertainm­ent.

The festival, which takes place on August 19 and August 20, will see the picturesqu­e Killrudder­y play host to a packed audience of festival fans who will not only enjoy the incredible music but will also have access to all that the newly expanded festival has to offer, including Thrive, a brand new lifestyle and wellness experience event.

Groove, with the introducti­on of Thrive, is the next-generation of wellness festivals where the audience can balance doing a yoga class then chilling out and enjoying the best of music, food and festival fun.

On Saturday Columbia Mills are first on the Main Stage at 1.30 p.m. followed by Chasing Abbey at 2.45 p.m; Jerry Fish at 4.15 p.m.; Kormac Live at 5.45 p.m.; Hudson Taylor at 7.15 p.m. before headliners Primal Scream take to the stage at 9 p.m.

On the Sony Xperia stage on Saturday will be: Jamie Duff at 2.15 p.m.; Third Smoke at 3.15 p.m.; Farah Elle at 4.15 p.m.; Chris Wise and the Hidden Revolution at 5.15 p.m.; Katie Laffan at 6.15 p.m.; Ailbhe Reddy at 7.15 p.m. and Daithi at 8.15 p.m.

Performanc­es on the Main Stage on Sunday begin with Na Fianna at 1.30 p.m.; Spring Break at 2.45 p.m.; Stomptown Brass at 4.15 p.m.; Cry Before Dawn at 5.45 p.m.; Hothouse Flowers at 7.15 p.m before UB40 featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey finish off the evening’s entertainm­ent at 9 p.m.

Sunday’s Sony Xperia stage kicks off with a set by Carron at 2.15 p.m.; I Am Niamh at 3.15 p.m.; Bocs Social at 4.15 p.m.; Jack O’Rourke at 5.15 p.m.; King Bones at 6.15 p.m.; The Fitzafreni­c at 7.15 p.m. and John Smith at 8.15 p.m.

Of course it’s not just all about the music and no festival is complete without food. Groove is providing one of the best menus at any Irish festival and Sharon Shannon’s newly launched Garden of Vegan food truck will be on site alongside the delicious Korean fare. Bray’s legendary Box Burger will be serving a special Groove menu as well as another famous local, The Happy Pear food truck.

Families are well catered for with plenty of activities to keep all ages enjoying the whole day at Groove Festival.

Tickets are on sale now at www.groovefese­tival.ie and start at just €59.50 for an adult one day pass while adult weekend passes are €99.50.
