Fam­i­lies are in­vited to tackle new Hell and Back chal­lenge

THE fam­ily that plays to­gether stays to­gether ac­cord­ing to the old adage and a new Hell and Back Fam­ily chal­lenge is be­ing in­tro­duced this Septem­ber.

On Septem­ber 10 Hell and Back Fam­ily will take place at Kill­rud­dery.

The ex­cit­ing new ad­ven­ture chal­lenge will bring adults and chil­dren aged over 10 years of age to­gether for a 7km en­durance run around the stun­ning Kill­rud­dery Es­tate.

Tak­ing place on the day af­ter the gru­elling adult Hell and Back, the spe­cially adapted fam­ily course, as seen on RTE’s Ire­land’s Fittest Fam­ily, be­comes an ad­ven­ture play­ground, where fam­i­lies must work to­gether to run, climb, crawl, and dunk their way through over 30 tor­tur­ous nat­u­ral and man-made ob­sta­cles, in­clud­ing the wa­ter jump, hell slide, half pipe, Satan’s pit and ice baths.

A novel fam­ily day out, Hell and Back Fam­ily is the ideal op­por­tu­nity to un­plug kids from their phones, com­put­ers and game con­soles with the of­fer of an ac­tion-packed af­ter­noon ad­ven­ture as the sum­mer hol­i­day come to an end.

Ai­dan Walsh, Op­er­a­tions Di­rec­tor with Alive Out­side, the com­pany be­hind all the mad­ness, said: ‘Hell and Back Fam­ily is shap­ing up to be a fan­tas­tic event where mums, dads and chil­dren must all work to­gether to make it through the tor­tur­ous 7km course – it truly is the ul­ti­mate fam­ily bond­ing ex­pe­ri­ence!’
