TEX­TILE ART IN THEATRE

As part of Her­itage Week, the cen­tre will be host­ing three ex­hi­bi­tions at once. Ad­mis­sion is €5.

Lo­cal res­i­dent, teacher and au­thor of ‘Wick­low Bound: a sea­sonal guide’, Seán Ó Súil­leab­háin will give a lively and in­for­ma­tive talk on lo­cal wildlife and na­ture in the Cas­tle Inn be­fore tak­ing the group on a guided walk around New­cas­tle Fen Bird Sanc­tu­ary. COM­MU­NITY BAR­BE­CUE

Af­ter a re­ally suc­cess­ful bar­be­cue last year, or­gan­is­ers of this fun, fam­ily event are hop­ing to re­peat the feat this year. Ad­vance tick­ets

Del­gany and District Hor­ti­cul­tural So­ci­ety will present the best of dahlia blooms as grow­ers hope to take home a prize.

ME­MO­RIAL MATCHES

The com­mu­nity of Bal­li­na­clash will pay trib­ute to two much-missed lo­cal ladies with a spe­cial soc­cer tour­na­ment that, in fu­ture, will form part of the an­nual Clash Fest cel­e­bra­tions. A chil­dren’s match will take place at 4 p.m., fol­lowed by a ladies’ match at 5.30 p.m.

This show will be an evening of hu­mour fea­tur­ing ex­cerpts from the works of Ea­monn Kelly, Hugh Leonard, Flann O’Brien and oth­ers. Tak­ing place as part of Her­itage week, tick­ets cost €5.

LAST OF THE SUM­MER FLING

Bid farewell to the sum­mer with a day of tra­di­tional games, in­clud­ing egg and spoon races, sack rac­ing, wheel­bar­row races, welly-throw­ing com­pe­ti­tions and much more. Must be booked in ad­vance for non-Kill­rud­dery mem­bers. Tick­ets cost €7.50 for mem­bers, €2 for chil­dren un­der 12 and childeren un­der four are free (the event is free for Kill­rud­dery mem­bers).

BRAZIL MEETS BRAY

Tres Brazil­ian Cul­tural Cen­tre presents the se­cond Brazil Meets Bray which is a fam­ily-friendly event fea­tur­ing Brazil­ian mu­sic, crafts, prizes and food. Ad­mis­sion is free.
