Re­source Cen­tre Hours: St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre is open 9 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Mon­day to Thurs­day and on Fri­day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those re­quir­ing Bap­tism/Con­fir­ma­tion cer­tifi­cates or ap­pli­ca­tion forms for bap­tism can ob­tain them dur­ing the above hours. Please note that the par­ish of­fice is the only place where cer­tifi­cates and ap­pli­ca­tion forms can be pro­cessed.

Mass Times: Mass is cel­e­brated in St Anne’s Church at 10 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Mon­day to Fri­day (ex­cept July, Au­gust and Septem­ber). Week­end Mass times are Satur­day 6.30 p.m. Vigil Mass and on Sun­day at 8 a.m., 10.30 a.m. (Fam­ily Mass), mid­day, and 6 p.m. Con­fes­sions are heard on Satur­days af­ter the 10 a.m. Mass, be­tween 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m., and af­ter the 6.30 p.m. Mass. Mass is now broad­cast on­line and can be viewed by log­ging onto the par­ish web­site: stannes­ and then click­ing onto video link.

Evening Mass: Please note that there will be No Evening Masses for the months of Au­gust and Septem­ber. Evening Mass will re­sume on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 2, sum­mer Week­day Church Hours: St Anne’s Church will close at the fol­low­ing times over the sum­mer months (Au­gust to Oc­to­ber 1) Mon­day to Thurs­day at 4.45 p.m. and on Fri­day at 2.45 p.m.

St Pa­trick’s Chapel, Lough­lin­stown: The cel­e­bra­tion of the Sun­day 9 a.m. Mass has now ceased in the Chapel and will re­sume when es­sen­tial main­te­nance has been com­pleted.

Bap­tism Times: Bap­tisms take place in St Anne’s Church at 1 p.m. on the first Sun­day of the month and at 5 p.m. on the se­cond and fourth Satur­days of the month. A month’s no­tice is re­quired. Please con­tact the St Anne’s par­ish of­fice lo­cated in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre to make your ar­range­ments. Please note that when vis­it­ing the par­ish of­fice to ar­range a bap­tism, the child’s birth cer­tifi­cate should be brought as it nec­es­sary to pho­to­copy it for the par­ish records but it will be re­turned im­me­di­ately.

Pre-Bap­tism Meet­ings: Pre-Bap­tism Meet­ings are held on the last Thurs­day of every month for par­ents pre­sent­ing their chil­dren for bap­tism the fol­low­ing month.

Room Hire – St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre: At present we have avail­abil­ity in the cen­tre for room hire. If you are in­ter­ested in run­ning your class or course please con­tact Melissa Tobin at 01 2822777 for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion. Fa­cil­i­ties in­clude Free car park, tea or cof­fee, Use of white­board and pro­jec­tor, Flipchart Stands, three rooms avail­able with ca­pac­ity for 80 peo­ple, 25 peo­ple, or 15 peo­ple.

Hos­pi­tal­ity: Hos­pi­tal­ity af­ter the 10.30 a.m. Mass on the se­cond and fourth Sun­day of the month has ceased and will re­sume on the last Sun­day of Septem­ber.

Male Voice Choir: We are cur­rently re­cruit­ing a new choir in St St Anne’s. This choir is aimed at re­tired gen­tle­men of Shankill – we are also look­ing for mu­si­cians. Launch­ing in De­cem­ber this year at the Christ­mas Carol Ser­vice. Re­hearsals will take place dur­ing late Septem­ber, Oc­to­ber and Novem­ber on Thurs­days from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the church. Free tea or cof­fee will be avail­able af­ter the 10.30 a.m. Mass on Thurs­day prior to re­hearsal. If you would like to get in­volved as a singer or mu­si­cian, please leave your name and mo­bile num­ber in the par­ish of­fice – call 01 2822277 – and your name will be added to the list for text mes­sage re­minders and up­dates.

Min­istry: We would like to en­cour­age and ap­peal to parish­ioners to con­sider com­mit­ting their time to­wards a Min­istry in St Anne’s, be­gin­ning in Septem­ber till June 2018. Ado­ra­tion of the Most Blessed Sacra­ment: The UAC hold Ado­ra­tion of the Blessed Sacra­ment from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 22nd of each month. This is a world­wide ini­tia­tive by the Pal­lot­tine Fam­ily to pray for vo­ca­tions to the Pri­est­hood and the Re­li­gious Life. It also con­tains med­i­ta­tions, lives of the Saints, and pray­ers for Morn­ing and Evening based on the Li­turgy of the Hours. Last Satur­day morn­ing the Au­gust First Satur­day Book Sale, which sup­ports the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion and Meals on Wheels, took place be­tween 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Shankill Old Folks Cen­tre. Lower Road, Shankill, at which there was an ex­cel­lent ar­ray of books, CDs and DVDs on of­fer at bar­gain prices.

The Septem­ber First Satur­day Book Sale will take place in the same venue be­tween the same times on Satur­day, Septem­ber 2, so make a point of call­ing into the book sale on that Satur­day morn­ing and avail of the op­por­tu­nity to pick up some ex­cel­lent read­ing ma­te­rial for the au­tumn. It’s also a good time to pass the time till the Rath­michael Par­ish Fête com­mences at mid­day.

Do­na­tions of books, other than school/text books, ac­cepted on the day. Please note that pho­to­graphs and me­mo­rial cards found in do­nated books can be col­lected at the book sale. Sup­port­ing the First Satur­day Book Sale sup­ports the Shankill Com­mu­nity.

Dublin, by Damien Burke, Ar­chiv­ist of the Irish Je­suit Ar­chives on ‘The Life of Fr Wil­lie Doyle, SJ’ Fr Doyle was born in Dalkey in 1873 and killed at the Third Bat­tles of Ypres on Au­gust 13, 1917, while serv­ing as a mil­i­tary chap­lain.
