CLUB’S PHO­TOG­RA­PHY EX­HI­BI­TION UN­DER WAY

GREY­STONES Cam­era Club is host­ing an ex­hi­bi­tion of its mem­bers’ work this week, with al­most ev­ery mem­ber ex­hibit­ing images at the show.

The ex­hi­bi­tion is on un­til Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 14 at the Hill­side Evan­gel­i­cal Church on Hill­side Road and the of­fi­cial launch took place there last night (Tues­day).

The daily open­ing hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the du­ra­tion of the ex­hi­bi­tion.

Mem­bers meet on Thurs­day evenings. Most Thurs­days they can be found at the Hill­side Evan­gel­i­cal Church Hall.

They have room there for stu­dio set­ups, prac­ti­cal pho­tog­ra­phy ses­sions, great ar­eas for guest speak­ers and a kitchen for their weekly tea and cakes.

About once a month they go on lo­ca­tion. For ex­am­ple, they re­cently held a light paint­ing shoot in Lady’s Cove in Grey­stones.

Mem­bers get to hone their pho­tog­ra­phy skills, they get to be part of a group who all share a com­mon pas­sion for pho­tog­ra­phy and to share knowl­edge and ex­pe­ri­ence while hav­ing fun.

The club par­tic­i­pates in Ir­ish Pho­to­graphic Fed­er­a­tion (IPF) ac­cred­i­ta­tions, help­ing their mem­bers gain dis­tinc­tions at all lev­els as well as com­pet­ing in Na­tional Com­pe­ti­tions. They run com­pe­ti­tions and through­out the year they or­gan­ise days out and week­ends away.
