CLLR Brendan Thornhill brought a number of notices of motion to the district meeting last Tuesday evening.

He asked that the council support the idea of a pedestrian crossing being placed at the bottom of Putland Road at Strand Road.

District Administrator David Forde said that a raised table is being provided under the current contract that includes a pedestrian crossing point on the Putland Road arm of the junction.

A contract is currently in place for the replacement of 22 seats in the Peoples Park. Eight of them have already been replaced.

Cllr Thornhill asked that the council support the idea of improving, updating or repairing the outdoor furniture at the park.

A survey of the foundation at the adult outdoor gym on the seafront has been organised. The council plans to seek funding next year for a solid foundation for the facility.

Cllr Thornhill asked that the yellow box at Seacrest/Vevay Road be repainted and was told that this will be added to the schedule of road marking works.
