Jimmy to appear on this weekend’s Winning Streak

A Bray native who moved to Kerry over 40 years ago will garner plenty of support from his home town when he appears on Winning Streak at the weekend.

Jimmy Kelly, originally from Vevay Road, moved to Tralee in 1976. He had been employed by Industrial Yarns and when it closed, he followed the work to Burlington in Tralee.

He remained in textiles until becoming a salesman for Crystal Clear Productions and then a sign company.

Now retired, he lives in Oak Park with his wife Kathleen, who will be leading the charge of support on Saturday in Dublin.

They have five children, and 11 grandchildren, as well as plenty of nieces and nephews in Bray.

Jimmy was watching Winning Streak on RTÉ last Saturday night, when his name was called out. He and his wife decided not to get too excited as there could have been others of that name in Tralee.

It was him though, and they’re all off to Dublin on Saturday for a day of filming at Montrose.

Jimmy’s 22 guests will be coming from all over the country, and there is even an international flavour, with a Polish daughter-in-law, and a French son-in-law.

His sisters will also come from Howth and Artane.

The banners are being diligently produced and the whole gang can’t wait for the weekend.

Jimmy is guaranteed at least €12,000 in prizes and cash. ‘Anything more than that is a bonus,’ he said. He said that they will probably have a holiday and clear off a few bills.
