A hilarious day as Joe Duffy’s Funny Friday visits Bray
A LARGE CROWD of locals had the time of their lives recently at the Royal Hotel in Bray for a broadcast of Liveline’s ‘Funny Friday’.
Joe Duffy’s RTÉ Radio 1 programme often veers on the more serious side of life, but every so often he brings ‘Funny Friday’ to somewhere in the nation to lift the spirits. The popular broadcaster was joined in Bray by some of Ireland’s finest musical comedians to put our politicians and public personalities under the spotlight to truly uproarious effect. Guests on the day included Irish showbiz legends June Rodgers, Syl Fox and Doc Savage.
June donned a belly dancer’s costume, and one of the comics, Pakie O’Callaghan, pilloried Enniskerry resident Minister Shane Ross.
The audience members who came to enjoy the fun were there free of charge for what was a wonderful afternoon of classic entertainment with prizes galore.
There was jazz on the menu also thanks to County Wicklow singing collective ‘Lady Sings the Blues’, which includes Flo McSweeney, Jhil Quinn and Clara Rose. Joe and his guests made sure to meet all their fans afterwards.
