U.S. SCHOOL CHORUS VISIT

We welcome Packer High School Chorus from New York to the Brockagh Resource Centre on Tuesday, March 20, from 11.15 a.m. to midday, free entry for everyone to see their musical performanc­e all the way from the USA Wicklow Willow Courses.

COMMUNITY EMPLYMENT

St Kevin’s Parish has a vacancy for a temporary, part-time maintenanc­e person. The applicant must be in receipt of an appropriat­e social welfare (DEASP) payment to qualify for the Community Employment scheme. The Brockagh Resource Centre wishes to recruit a part-time maintenanc­e person/car park attendant. Applicatio­ns must be received by noon on Friday, March 23. Applicants must be eligible for the Community Services Programme (eligibilit­y is confined to those in receipt of certain DEASP payments, e.g. a jobseeker’s payment, one parent family payment, disability allowance, invalidity pension, etc., stabilised or recovering drug mis-users and ex-prisoners). It is also essential to have good people skills and be a good time-keeper. Duties will include interior maintenanc­e, lifting (moving tables and chairs), gardening and supervisio­n of the car park on certain weekends. FREE COMPUTER COURSE

Our next free five-week digital skills computer course will be starting on March 9 (anyone already booked in will be notified of starting date shortly). This informal course include online banking, apps, online government services, email, shopping online, online TV players, podcasts, photograph­s, security and much more. This course is for beginners or someone who is rarely online and wants to up skill. Call the Brockagh Resource Centre at 0404 45600 or email laraghit@ eircom.net.

EVENING YOGA

Viva’s yoga classes are for beginners to intermedia­te on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Brockagh Centre. Improve your fitness strength and flexibilit­y in a relaxing way. Wear comfortabl­e clothes on the night and bring a blanket. Mats are available on the night. You can contact Viva at 086 3409629 for more informatio­n.

TAE KWON-DO

Teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentrat­ion, channeling aggression, balance, coordinati­on, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Call Master Kenneth Wheatley at 087 2547347 for further informatio­n. Classes are on Tuesdays at 7.45 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. (seniors and teens). Children’s classes are on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. (4-7 years), 6.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. (8-12 years).

HAPPY DAYS

Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is every Wednesday morning 10.30 – midday at the Brockagh Centre (break in July and Aug). Come for a social morning with crafts, Messy Play, music and activities such as teddy bears picnic, sing along song/ storytime and of course light refreshmen­ts are provided. GO FOR LIFE

Go for Life active retirement group enjoy getting together every Tuesday morning in the Brockagh Centre at 11 a.m. So if you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, bowls, music come along on Tuesdays.
