NO MATCHING BRICKS AVAILABLE TO FIX WALL

-

A wall at Wheatfield hasn’t been repaired because the matching bricks were unavailable.

Cllr Brendan Thornhill asked in a notice of motion that the council repair the wall, which has been in disrepair for years. Members heard that the council a few years ago proposed to the Wheatfield Residents Association to remove the return on the wall into the estate to provide the brick required to repair the damaged section on the Boghall Road. This was rejected by the residents.

If the members agree, an alternative brick can be used for the repair, but it would not look well.

Cllr Thornhill said that he would discuss the options with residents and report back. THERE are no plans to change markings at Wyndham Park, members of Bray Municipal District heard at their meeting last week.

In a notice of motion, Cllr Brendan asked that the markings be updated and painted.

Members heard that some of the parking bay markings at the southern end of Wyndham Park and shark’s teeth markings on the speed table at the Florence Road junction require renewal.

It is planned to renew markings in this general area including Wyndham at the earliest opportunity. However there are no plans to update or change the markings. A tree that was the subject of a notice of motion was removed the day of last week’s district meeting.

Cllr Brendan Thornhill had asked that the council inspect and remove a tree eat 28 Glenthorn, with a view to safety.

District Administrator David Forde told Cllr Thornhill that a mature tree that was leaning towards the property was removed earlier on Tuesday.
