Westbusiness networkabout tobelaunched
BUSINESSES from Blessington, Dunlavin, Baltinglass and surrounding areas are invited to the launch of the West Wicklow Business Network.
The launch takes place at Russborough House on Tuesday, March 20. There will be a networking opportunity from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and tour guides on hand for anyone who wants to explore the house.
This will be followed at 7.30 p.m. by a presentation from the key note speaker, networking expert Simon Finn, who has picked up numerous international awards for his support to business owners. Over the past 12 months, the BNI UK and Ireland Trainer has supported 240 businesses to generate almost €15 million (ex-VAT) through networking.
A core Business Network committee established in 2015 included Sonia Moran from Punctual Print, Kilian McGreal from McGreal’s Pharmacy, Michael O’Connell from House of Finance, Ronan Flood from Ronan Flood, Janet Hawkins from Blessington Bookstore Café, Orlagh Deegan from Choice Training and Consultancy. More recently Martin Blake, Bailey & Blake, Rachel Kane, Lifehack and Karen from Karen O’Donnell Communications.
Orlagh Deegan wanted to hold a network event at iconic Russborough House since joining in 2015 and spearheaded this event by contacting Eric Blanchfield, CEO of Russborough, who has been very obliging in facilitating the launch in the run up to their own re-opening after a major mechanical and electrical upgrade of the house.
‘ The mission of the network is to support and promote the empowerment of all businesses in west Wicklow, through membership participation, sharing of ideas, education and networking opportunities,’ said Ms Deegan.
Network Members include business owners from start-ups and sole traders to micro businesses, SMEs and large companies who trade internationally in industries including engineering, constructions, HR, health and safety, finance, property, hospitality, consultancy, IT, printing, music, health and wellbeing and many more. The network is an open house and welcomes all business owners.
Towards the end of last year Karen Kane from Lifehack in Baltinglass facilitated two design research workshops, one in Blessington and one in Baltinglass, to explore the future of the evolving business network in an emerging rural business development area. Following this, a strategic plan was prepared for 2018 and will be presented at the launch night. The event is free, simply RSVP to westwicklowbusiness@gmail.com.
