Salon Privé 2018
YOU’LL have to head across the water if you want to get close up and personal with Lamborghini Urus Super SUV.
Salon Privé’s 2018 new-car line-up will include Urus, first unveiled in December 2017 at the company’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The car made its public debut at Geneva motor show earlier this year.
With benchmarking power, performance and driving dynamics, the Urus has created a niche within the luxury SUV segment. Producing 650 hp and 850 Nm of torque (available at just 2,250 rpm) from its twin turbo 4.0 V8, the Urus accelerates to 62 mph in only 3.6 seconds. Sporting a top speed of 190 mph and the best weight-topower ratio, the Lamborghini Urus is the fastest SUV available. It’s equally at home on the race track and off-road, as it is driving around town or on long distance journeys.
Salon Privé is billed as a boutique Garden Party famed for attracting the world’s most exotic manufacturers who congregate on the stunning lawns of the UNESCO World Heritage site, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire from August 30 to September 1. Frequented by collectors and buyers of such machinery, it has become part of the premium car-owners’ summer events calendar.
‘Salon Privé is a perfect platform for Lamborghini to showcase both Urus as well as super sports models Huracán and Aventador,’ said Andrea Baldi, CEO of Lamborghini EMEA
The Huracán Performante Spyder and Aventador S Roadster on display alongside the Urus are the latest incarnations of the two super sports car model lines in Lamborghini’s stable. Launched earlier this year at Geneva motor show, the Huracán Performante Spyder features a 5.2 litre V10 engine producing 640 hp at a screaming 8,000 rpm. Acceleration to 62 mph is achieved in just 3.1 seconds and unusually for an open-top version, it matches the top speed of its coupe stablemate at 202 mph. Its V12 brother, the Aventador S Roadster produces 740 hp which is enough to propel it to 62 mph in 3.0 seconds and on to a top speed of 217 mph. THE latest Mercedes-Benz range of Sprinter panel vans has arrived on the market here, priced from €21,950, excluding taxes and charges.
The large, high-spec, high-tech Sprinter is said to bring new levels of intelligent connectivity, superior comfort and – for the first time – a front wheel drive version to the market, backed by a new 3-years warranty now standard across the entire Mercedes-Benz van range.
Available in six body variants, five wheelbase options, three body heights, five weight classes and three drive configurations (front, rear and 4-wheel drive) with a towing capacity up to 3.5 tonnes, Mercedes-Benz claims that customers can model more than 1,700 different units to meet whatever requirement they may have. Engines are a mix of 6-cylinder and 4-cylinder units.
A key feature is its greater load volume - increased up to 17cu. metres with 5.5 tonnes capacity - made possible by lowering the rear floor height to allow owners transport more loadper-movement and provide greater ease-of-access for drivers. Car-like comfort, additional safety elements, and new online fleet management and communications possibilities are amongst its other features.
The new Sprinter is now available to test drive nationwide at nine authorised Mercedes-Benz van dealers. To find your nearest dealer visit www.mercedes-benz.ie.
