Horseshow
Kilmacanogue and District Horse Show takes place on Saturday, July 28, at Monastery Cross from 10 a.m.
Besides the ponies, horses and sheep there is plenty to keep everyone busy including the very popular dog show, pony rides, ‘guess the weight of the lamb’ and art competitions. There are delicious locally grown raspberries to enjoy with ice-cream, craft stalls to browse and find bargains at, food and trade stands including demonstrations on health and safety and a farrier at work.

Wicklow Homeless Five Loaves are appealing for one-man tents and sleeping bags for the homeless.
The drop-in centre on Albert Walk and charity shop at the recycling centre on Boghall Road are accepting the donations.
Meanwhile, Wicklow County Council is providing sunscreen and other important supplies during the current hot weather.
Alzheimer Cafémeetings
The Alzheimer Café meets on the last Thursday of each month from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at their new venue, Sunbeam House Services, Cedar Industrial Estate, Killarney Road.
The Alzheimer Café is a relaxed place where people with dementia, their families and friends, health and social care professionals come together for education and support over a cup of tea. It is a safe space where people can share experiences and talk about dementia.
This is a voluntary joint initiative by St Columcille’s Hospital and Community Health in South Dublin and Wicklow. It is free of charge.
They welcome people with all types of dementia and their families or carers.

Aware
Mental health organisation Aware hosts a support group every Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. in the Villa Pacis Centre, on the grounds of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on Putland Road in Bray.
Aware support groups offer individuals the opportunity to talk openly about depression, bipolar and other related mood disorders and their impact.

Wheelers’ charitycycle
Bray Wheelers will host their annual Padddy Martin Memorial Randonee on Sunday, July 21.
Proceeds go to supporting Aware. There is a choice of three distances on the day, 70km, 90km and 120km.
Sign-on will take place in Bray Wheelers CC clubhouse from 8.50 a.m. to 10 a.m. and all routes take in some of Wicklows most beautiful countryside.

Archivesof Enniskerry
Historian Michael Seery will deliver a presentation on Enniskerry’s ‘Archives, Notes and stories from the Village’.
The event will take place in Enniskerry Library on Sturday, August 18 at 11.30 a.m. as part of heritage week.

Comedian Dara Ó Briain will re-join his former GAA club Bray Emmets this September, to host their corporate lunch in Dublin’s Ballsbridge Hotel.
Bray native Dara is no stranger to a hurl, but the microphone will be his weapon of choice on September 7.
Guests will also be joined by racing’s AP McCoy and hurling’s Nicky English for the lunch, for which a few tables remain available.
The event includes a three-course lunch, sports talk with the stars, and networking opportunities.
Speakers will give their views on everything from this year’s all-Ireland tournaments to Ireland’s chances in the next rugby world cup.
There will also be the chance to have photos taken with the sporting greats to have a memento of the occasion forever.

Grow Community Mental Health Movement meets every Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Parish Centre, Queen of Peace Church, Putland Road, Bray.
If you are lonely, isolated or suffering from stress, why not come learn a practical psychology of mental health? Grow is a mutual help, mutual support group for personal growth and change.
The group meets weekly, using a 12 step programme of recovery.

A mother and toddler group meets weekly at Ballywaltrim Community Centre. The group will meet each Wednesday from 9.15 a.m. till 10.15 a.m.

Bray Cardiac First Responders would welcome any new volunteers or anyone interested in learning cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The Enniskerry Festival will take place in the village on September 7 and eight. The festival will include Bagatelle, a disco for teenagers, Vic- torian field day, pony rides and more. Funds for Open Door and Enniskerry parishes.
Outdoorfilms onBraybeach
There will be outdoor movies on Bray beach on the evenings of July 12, August 9, and August 16.
The films have yet to be decided, with a public appeal to come to vote for which films will be screened.
The screenings will begin at 10 p.m. or when it is dark. You can bring a blanket, camp chair or deck chair, but no pets and no alcohol. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
WingsFood Festisback
Wings Food Fest is back and we have a superb line-up of activities in Bray over the weekend of July 21 and 22 each day from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. The festival is dedicated to the mighty chicken wing and includes 15 wing pop-up shops.
There will be barbecue pitmasters at work cooking meats on the gril, and the search is on to find who can survive the hottest wings challenge, who can eat the most wings but most importantly who has the best wings in Bray.
Bandstand
Summer Sounds continue on the bandstand in Bray this Sunday, with Bray Concert Band. The music will be on the bandstand from 2.30 p.m. till 4 p.m.
