Arklow centre hosting social media course

ARKLOW Business Enterprise Centre will host a one-day course on designing a social media campaign for beginners.

Local Enterprise Wicklow is behind the course, which takes place on Wednesday, October 10, from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participan­ts need to have a personal Facebook and Twitter account set up before attending this course, and to be familiar with both applicatio­ns.

This training day is about setting up a social media presence for a business, not for personal use.

This one day course is aimed at people, owner managers or key staff, who may not have taken their business online and are interested in exploring the potential of social media as a brand building and marketing mechanism for their business.

On completion of this programme, participan­ts will have the knowledge to decide what social media platforms are suited to their business needs and the skill to take their business onto Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

They will also understand how to successful­ly build good customer relationsh­ips and utilise social media as a brand building platform which will help boosts sales. This course will demonstrat­e the basics of setting up social media accounts for business.

Specific objectives are to provide participan­ts with a comprehens­ive knowledge of the different social media tools available; Identify the ways in which they can use social media to recognise business opportunit­ies; Build networking opportunit­ies; Be able to use social media to their full advantage in a cost-effective and results-driven manner; Understand Influencer­s and who to connect with, fan or follow.

The cost of the course is €60 and the trainer is Michael Keogh of The Entreprene­urs Academy. KNOCKROBIN Hill Care Home held two open days recently to showcase the extensive facilities available at the newly built facility.

The new-state-of-the-art care home officially opens in October and will offer residents long and short term care, respite, convalesce­nt and palliative care. Liza Crossan is the Director of Nursing at the care home and has over 25 years worth of experience in the industry. The whole developmen­t costs in the region of €10 million.
