Sarah Power to star in Orfeo ed Euridice

-

BRAY native Sarah Power will play the lead role of Euridice in the Irish National Opera’s touring production of Orfeo ed Euridice, which runs at Mermaid Arts Centre on Tuesday, February 12.

The opera is a tale about the ultimate love based on the Greek myth of Orpheus, who is granted permission to travel to the underworld to rescue his wife Euridice on the condition that he not look at her until they are back on earth.

Award-winning soprano Sarah Power is a former Scottish Opera Emerging Artist. She is a graduate of the DIT Conservatory, Dublin, and the Guildhall and National Opera Studio in Lon- don.

Sarah’s singing career began with classes in the Bray Music Centre, where teacher Patricia McCarry recognised her exceptional musical talent.

So began a long road of dedication to study, competitions and auditions which eventually took her to the stage of the Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as to the opera stages and concert platforms of France, Switzerland and Austria.

Tickets to the concert are €28 or €27 concession. To book go to mermaidartscentre.ie.
