Drogheda Independent - - FRONT PAGE -

THE Presentation National School on the Ballymakenny Road lost one of its most popular and long serving teachers with the retirement of principal, Muireann Maguire.

Miss Maguire was the guest of honour at a special event in the school last week - where the tears flowed and the memories were regaled in equal measure.

Muireann spent 40 years as a teacher and principal on the Ballymakenny Road.

There were numerous great stories about her life in the school and one of the best presents she received was a book - made by the students - which featured their memories of Ms Maguire.

She also got plenty of flowers and other special gifts to recall her time there.

Principal Mrs. Maguire and her son Padraig look through a book of memories presented to her by the pupils as she retired from Presentation NS.

A fond farewell miss.......
