Three kitchen knives and axe

A MAN who is al­leged to have had three kitchen knives, an axe and a screw­driver in his pos­ses­sion when stopped by gar­daí has had his case ad­journed to Jan­uary 12th at Drogheda District Court.

Martin Ward with ad­dresses in Kerry and Ca­van, was stopped at Mosstown, Dun­leer on Jan­uary 18th, 2017 af­ter gar­daí re­ceived a call about a dis­tur­bance.

The Solic­i­tor for the De­fence said Ward has a sig­nif­i­cant in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­ity and a se­vere prob­lem with al­co­hol.

Ad­journ­ing the case for the prepa­ra­tion of a pro­ba­tion re­port, Judge John Cough­lan told the de­fen­dant: ‘If you don’t com­ply I’ll put you in jail.’
