SISTER Ann Brady will mark her Golden Jubilee with a night of celebration in the Westcourt Hotel on Thursday October 19th at 7pm.
Sr Ann entered the Mercy Order in Trim in 1964 and took her orders in 1967 as Sr Mary Perpetua Joseph.
Since then, her work has taken her as far afield as Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria, USA and Canada. However, Sr Ann has never strayed far from her roots and remains deeply involved with her family and home in Rathmoylan, Co Meath and also in the Holy Family Parish in Drogheda, where she lived (202 Ballsgrove) and worked in Marymount National School from the early 70’s to the 90’s.
Since then she has lived in Newry and served on the board of the Orana Children and Family Centre.
While in Ballsgrove Sr Ann saw the need for Adult Education programmes for women in the area and in 1991 founded Lifestyle Development Group Ltd.
Whilst her current work with the Mercy Provinciate and with Capacitor training keeps her on the road weekly from her current home in Newry to Clogher, Co Tyrone (home of the Mercy Northern Provinciate) she still manages to come to Drogheda regularly for Tai Chi Classes, to attend Lifestyle Board Meetings and most importantly to visit friends.
She is an inspiration to all who are fortunate enough to know her, to have been taught by her, to have been employed by Lifestyle or to know her as a former neighbour and friend.
The group are celebrating Sr Ann’s vocation of 50 years by organising an evening in the Westcourt Hotel on Thursday 19th October to include a buffet meal. Past pupil, colleagues, and all who know or have worked with her in her many ventures are welcome to come on the night.
Tickets are available from Lifestyle Centre Ballsgrove. Email email@example.com.
