Parking at the Abbey needs to be sorted
THE situation at the former Abbey car park just amazes me.
Here is a significant open space that is lying empty.
A few white lines would box off dozens of much needed car parking spaces - and I don’t care who gets the money, the council or the OPW.
Now, there is an area just in front of the car park, opposite the back of the Abbey, and it seems to be a no man’s land.
Does the council own it and can they put a ticket on your car, even though there’s no sign up and indeed no designated lines or spaces.
I think if I got a ticket here, I’d have a case to appeal.
The Abbey car park and the area in front of it. But who owns that piece?
