RAPID fund­ing of €64,000 al­lo­cated for lo­cal CCTV

NEW RAPID fund­ing has been an­nounced to im­prove and up­grade CCTV in a num­ber of Drogheda es­tates, it has been re­vealed.

Fund­ing of €64,500 has been al­lo­cated un­der the RAPID (Re­vi­tal­is­ing Ar­eas by Plan­ning, In­vest­ment and De­vel­op­ment), scheme for Drogheda and Dun­dalk.

The coun­cil pro­poses to the fund­ing to up­grade CCTV in lo­cal RAPID ar­eas.

This in­cludes Rath­mullen, Yel­low­bat­ter and Money­more with ad­di­tional CCTV in Rath­mullen, coun­cil­lors at the Novem­ber meet­ing of Drogheda Mu­nic­i­pal District were told.

They heard that the clos­ing date for sub­mis­sions is the end of Novem­ber and the coun­cil­lors all gave their sup­port for the scheme.

The fund­ing is to be di­vided equally be­tween Drogheda and Dun­dalk and the fund­ing has been al­lo­cated to pro­vide CCTV in these ar­eas, ac­cour­d­ing to a note from the Depart­ment.

This is the first fund­ing al­lo­cated by the Depart­ment in ten years.
