Chil­dren’s sci­ence work­shop

CHIL­DREN and young peo­ple from Drogheda are be­ing en­cour­aged to ‘Go Fly a Kite’ to learn about Sci­ence, Tech­nol­ogy, En­gi­neer­ing and Maths (STEM).

A Go Fly Your Kite work­shop will take place in Drogheda on Tues­day, Novem­ber 14th and stu­dents from Drogheda are in­vited to come along to this fun and ed­u­ca­tional event. So what can you learn from a kite? Each STEM work­shop teaches about the his­tory of kites, how a kite flies, physics of kites, sim­ple ex­per­i­ments, forces of na­ture and the de­sign and con­struc­tion of your kite. ‘Our aim is to make sci­ence fun and be­ing part of Sci­ence Week 2017, SFI, Mid­lands Sci­ence and Gal­way Sci­ence & Tech­nol­ogy Fes­ti­val is a fan­tas­tic chance for us to help fire up the imag­i­na­tions of thou­sands of young peo­ple; to ex­cite them about sci­ence; to ex­press them­selves and get cre­ative; and to do some­thing that may be to­tally new to them,’ said Glenn Heasley, MD of Go Fly Your Kite.

The work­shop will take place in Drogheda li­brary on Tues­day, Novem­ber 14th from 10am to 3pm.
