Eir box damaged af­ter break-in at busi­ness

GAR­DAÍ are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter an Eir cabi­net on the Donore Road was damaged caus­ing thou­sands of euro worth of dam­age.

They be­lieve it may be con­nected to a rob­bery in the Donore In­dus­trial Es­tate on the same night in which a sub­stan­tial amount of cash was taken.

The Eir Trans­mit­ter box was tam­pered with in the early hours of Thurs­day morn­ing, Jan­uary 25th caus­ing close to ten thou­sand euro worth of dam­age.

As a re­sult of in the in­ci­dent, a num­ber of nearby busi­ness premises were left with­out ser­vice the fol­low­ing day.

A short time af­ter the box was damaged, some­time between 2.30am and 3am, a busi­ness premises on the Donore In­dus­trial Es­tate was bro­ken into via an emer­gency door and ap­prox­i­mately €1,300 in cash was stolen.

Mean­while, Gar­daí in Meath are in­ves­ti­gat­ing ar­son at­tacks on two mo­bile homes in the area over the week­end.

At mid­night on Sun­day a mo­bile home was set on fire in Mornington.

In the other in­ci­dent, also in Mornington, a hol­i­day home was set on fire around 11.15pm on Satur­day night.

A num­ber of car win­dows smashed in the Gleann Alainn es­tate in Tullyallen on Jan­uary 23rd and 26th are also be­ing in­ves­ti­gated.
