Big days ahead for the renowned Ni Chearra O Baolain Irish dancing school
DROGHEDA and Ni Chearra O Baoláin have achieved the highest merit in Irish Dancing yet again.
These young ladies in the Under 13 ceili team became World Champions and brought home the top prize, the famous globe presented by Michael Flatley from City West last Easter.
The young girls are members of the Ní Chearra O Baoláin Irish dancing school, where they are taught by world champion Caoimhe Boylan along with her parents Peter and Brenda Boylan who opened the school’s doors over 30 years ago.
The school has won numerous World and All Ireland titles throughout the years.
It really is a family affair as recently to join the teaching staff after successfully passing his Irish Dancing exam is Caoimhe’s brother Daire Boylan who is an All Ireland and National champion and was part of a winning team at the World Championships himself.
Caoimhe says, “Daire has been a great asset to the school since achieving his exam. The kids absolutely love him and it really benefits all of the pupils that he is young and understands what is needed in the world of Irish dancing now. He is fantastic with the fitness aspect of Irish dancing which is great for children who just want to dance for fun”
These world champions will be travelling to Glasgow at Easter again to try and regain the title.
They won’t be the only pupils travelling to Glasgow. The school also had 9 solo world qualifiers for the World Championships and another 3 ceili teams who will compete to bring back these fabulous medals as they did last year. The school as a whole is hoping to participate largely in the Fleadh Ceoil due to come to Drogheda in the summer and display the Irish culture to those from all around the globe who will be attending the festival.
