Flatscreen TV stolen during Bettystown Tesco break-in

Gardai are investigat­ing a break-in at the Tesco premises in Bettystown in which a flatscreen TV was stolen.

The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday, February 21st at around 4.30am. The culprit used a crowbar to prise open the shutters and get in to the shop floor.

He was attempting to steal a number of mobile phones when he was disturbed by a member of staff.

However, before he fled he grabbed a Sharp 24” TV from a shelf and took it with him. Gardaí in Laytown are investigat­ing and have appealed to anyone who has been offered the Sharp TV for sale to contact them on (041) 9827074.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Drogheda are investigat­ing two separate burglaries in the area over the weekend.

The first incident happened on Friday night, March 2nd when the alarm was activated at the Copper Kettle Restaurant in the centre of town.

There was damage caused to the roof of the building but nothing was taken.

The Accord Marriage Counsellin­g Service on Wellington Quay was broken into shortly before 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

Again in this incident, the alarm was activated and a man was discovered on the premises. He was subsequent­ly arrested.

A rear window of the property was smashed but nothing was stolen.
