Cooley Kickhams

Manager: Adrian Sheelan Go-to-guy: Brian White Group rivals: Glen Emmets & Oliver Plunketts 2017: Relegated from Senior Last 3 (Div 1): L - Naomh mairtin 1-14 : 0-10 W - St Bride’s 0-14 : 1-9 W - Clan Na Gael 0-21 : 2-12 Verdict: Couldn’t really have hoped for a softer landing into Intermediate football, so will be keen to avoid a shock this weekend. League form hasn’t been great and not out of the woods in terms of relegation, but should be too good in this group.

Glen Emmets

Manager: Derrick Johnson / Fergus Barnett / Sean Lynch Go-to-guy: James Butler Group rivals: Cooley Kickhams & Oliver Plunketts 2017: Junior champions Last 3: L- Kilkerley Emmets 1-12 : 0-8 L - St Joseph’s 3-13 : 0-14 W - Glyde Rangers 2-21 : 3-10 Verdict: With Graham Geraghty shown the door mid-season, they now face a battle to avoid relegation and could well be fighting against that fate on two fronts as they will be the underdogs in this group, albeit with a live chance against their neighbours.

Oliver Plunketts

Manager: Mickey Matthews Go-to-guy: Conor Early Group rivals: Cooley Kickhams & Glen Emmets 2017: Relegation play-offs Last 3: L - Glyde Rangers 0-10 : 1-6 D - Naomh Fionnbarra 1-13 : 3-7 L - St Joseph’s 1-14 : 2-10 Verdict: If the opening match goes to form, their derby clash with Glen Emmets will be a winner-takes all battle. The sides had a few big showdowns in the Junior grade a few years ago and there won’t be much between now either.
