THERE are quite a few top gigs listed for this summer around Drogheda, including a classic one at the Droichead Arts Centre on Saturday July 14. The exceptiona­l Carolan brothers, Gene, Stephen and James will perform live with former Voice of Ireland winner Pat Byrne and local soul and pop artist Saoirse.

Boomrang geared up for camps

Boomerang staff are all geared up for a summer of fun as they eagerly await your arrival to their exciting summer camps.

Coscan on stage

AUGUST 19 at the TLT will see an evening displaying an array of local talent from the Leinster area, with headline act of the night Coscan, featuring Liam Bridgeman, Tune Raiders, Katie & Aoife Lynch and many more.

Round the head swim

The Round the Head Swim takes place from Clogherhea­d Lifeboat Station on July 14th next.

Clogherhea­d provides swimmers with an opportunit­y to be very close to nature and see at close quarters the geographic­al features like Redman’s Cave as you circumnavi­gate the head.

During the swim there will be a number of boats, kayakers, paddle boarders and members of the local Coastguard on duty.

The water temp is likely to be between 12 C and 14 C. All candidates should have swan in similar conditions and swam at least 1.5 K in the open water within the previous 3 months.

Junior swimmers, under 16 years old, must have a parent or guardian sign on their behalf. The organising committee have the final say in participan­ts entry to the event.
