A MAN who was found to be in pos­ses­sion of a small amount of cannabis had his case struck out af­ter he made a char­i­ta­ble do­na­tion.

Trevor Keyes (45) of Cedarfield, Donore Road pleaded guilty at Drogheda Dis­trict Court to be­ing in un­law­ful pos­ses­sion of the drug at Mar­ley’s Lane in Drogheda.

He has no pre­vi­ous con­vic­tions.

Judge Alan Mitchell stuck the case out af­ter the de­fen­dant handed over €300 as a char­i­ta­ble do­na­tion.
