THE 18 Hole Stableford Halloween Competitio­n was held on Saturday 20th & Tuesday 23rd October. The scoring was very good with Brid Rocks winning Class A with a fantastic 37pts. Ruth Connolly had another fantastic 37pts winning Class B. Congratula­tions to all the winners.

At the presentati­on evening Lady Captain Pat Cleary welcomed her special guest Della Leonard. It has been 50 years since Della was Lady Captain in Dundalk Golf Club. Della spoke of her delight at her invitation to celebrate this special occasion. She is a lady of many achievemen­ts having won Lady Captain’s Prize and she played of a low handicap. She had fond memories of playing golf and in particular her year as Lady Captain. Della was presented with a bouquet of beautiful flowers from Lady Captain Pat.

GREENORE

THERE was a splendid display of Cups and Trophies and beautifull­y wrapped White Elephants for Saturdays 12H competitio­n and presentati­on evening. Following the presentati­on of Cups and Trophies Rosanna Crudden claimed the voucher and had the pick of the White Elephants when she carded 23 pts to win.

There were insufficie­nt entries for the midweek 12H SF competitio­n which is carried over.

MANNAN CASTLE

LAST Saturday Mannan Castle Golf Club held its annual Sponsors Day, and as usual the course was in great condition as remarked by all taking part.

First place went to Feargal O’Rourke, representi­ng McArdle Carpentry and Building Contractor­s Ltd, scoring 38 points, and the runner-up was Padraig McEneaney, representi­ng Doran Motors, who totalled 37 points.
