DRUMCONRAT­H ST BRIGID’S 3-11 3-3

AFTER waiting so long to win a game, Drumconrat­h have now won two in succession as their impressive start under new manager Larry McEntee continued in Ballinacre­e on Sunday morning.

The home side hit an early goal, but boosted by points from Robert McEntagger­t, Stephen Crosby (two) and Pado Farrelly, Drumconrat­h took a lead they would never relinquish.

Their opening goal came from Eoin Muldoon on 18 minutes. St Brigid’s responded with a second goal, this time from the penalty spot, but by half-time it was the visitors who enjoyed a 2-6 to 2-0 advantage, with the second goal for the eventual winners coming from Robert McEntagger­t.

Both sides pointed twice in the third quarter, with Crosby getting both of Drumconrat­h’s scores as they maintained their six-point advantage.

Muldoon struck for his second goal on 48 minutes and Drumconrat­h were 11 points ahead by the time they were reduced to 14 players, with David O’Halloran being dismissed after picking up a second yellow card.

•In other Division 4 games Slane picked up their first points of the campaign following a 3-12 to 1-14 win over Boardsmill at Toddy Harding Park.

St Mary’s also got off the mark, drawing 1-10 to 0-13 at home to Clonard. They had led 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time.
