DRUMCONRATH ST BRIGID’S 3-11 3-3
AFTER waiting so long to win a game, Drumconrath have now won two in succession as their impressive start under new manager Larry McEntee continued in Ballinacree on Sunday morning.
The home side hit an early goal, but boosted by points from Robert McEntaggert, Stephen Crosby (two) and Pado Farrelly, Drumconrath took a lead they would never relinquish.
Their opening goal came from Eoin Muldoon on 18 minutes. St Brigid’s responded with a second goal, this time from the penalty spot, but by half-time it was the visitors who enjoyed a 2-6 to 2-0 advantage, with the second goal for the eventual winners coming from Robert McEntaggert.
Both sides pointed twice in the third quarter, with Crosby getting both of Drumconrath’s scores as they maintained their six-point advantage.
Muldoon struck for his second goal on 48 minutes and Drumconrath were 11 points ahead by the time they were reduced to 14 players, with David O’Halloran being dismissed after picking up a second yellow card.

•In other Division 4 games Slane picked up their first points of the campaign following a 3-12 to 1-14 win over Boardsmill at Toddy Harding Park.
St Mary’s also got off the mark, drawing 1-10 to 0-13 at home to Clonard. They had led 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time.
