A presentation is to be made to local councillors on the plans for the council offices at Fair Street after Mayor Frank Godfrey questioned the ongoing use of Barlow House for meetings.
He said people, especially the public, found it hard to hear comments as there is no sound system.
‘We need our offices back,’ he stated. He said the proposed refurbishment of Fair Street was to cost €12m and he wondered when was it starting.
‘We have been without a proper sound system and we need to move on,’ he exclaimed. He said the council staff were to move into a building - O’Reilly’s - that cost €8m.
Director of Services Paddy Donnelly said a report would be ready for the March meeting.
