Louth PPN organise PPE support packs for local groups

-

Last Thursday Louth Public Participation Network (PPN) launched their COVID-19 Support Pack initiative outside County Hall.

This initiative is focused on assisting local PPN Groups as they begin to re-open their premises over the coming weeks following a difficult few months. Each ‘Support Pack’ contains disinfectant, hand-sanitiser, PPN branded reusable and disposable face-masks, gloves and information posters.

The Secretariat have nominated a total of 22 groups as part of Phase One of this initiative and the ‘Support Packs’ will be distributed in the coming days. At a time where funding is very limited, as a lot of Community and Voluntary groups rely on fundraising activities which have not been possible during COVID-19, the PPN has shown innovation and commitment in supporting our Members.

Grainne Carroll, PPN Resource Worker speaking about the initiative said, ‘ While it is widely acknowledged that a lot of our Members have worked tirelessly behind closed doors and through various online mechanisms throughout the COVID-19 Health Pandemic, the PPN is delighted to be in a position to offer support and assistance to a number of our PPN Members in re-opening their extremely valuable services physically to the public again after what has been an incredibly difficult few months.

If COVID-19 has taught us anything, it is the importance of strong community engagement and the PPN would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere gratitude to all services and volunteers who have pulled together to assist their communities so selflessly at this time’.
