Third national crown for talented Éamonn Rogers
ÉAMONN ROGERS (grandson of the late Tom and Nell Ryan of Station Road) competed in the Irish National Outdoor Archery Championships which took place on Sunday, September 10, in Cavan.
The Championships consists of a seeding round of 72 arrows, followed by Head to Head competition with a Mixed Double team event and a Senior (three archers) team event.
In appalling weather conditions, Éamonn seeded in fifth place, and put in an extremely strong performance in the Head to Head part of the competition, where he beat all comers, ending up as third time national champion.
Éamonn is the only Irish Archer to win this prestigious championship three times.
He then went on and with Club mates Fiachra Mac an Bhreithiún and John Keenan, won the team event, and with club mate Rachael McCrumb got to the 1/8ths in the Mixed Double.
