ROSS LARE LADIES

-

Last Tuesday was a V-Par competition. V-par is not an easy golf competition. To quote our Lady-Captain, “You must go for it”. Either you get your par... sink or swim... if you don’t it is on to the next hole. No putting practice even if it all goes askew. Into a bunker and hard to get that much desired +. So well done to those in the prizes. First was Catherine Haugh, who has been having a great year since her retirement.

The other big event this week was the Pro-am held over the week-end. 33 ladies played on 48 teams. There was a shotgun start at 8.30am and 2.15pm. Mairead Lynch, Delores Hayes and Maureen Mason won the ladies team prize.

It was all a great success and the weather held up too. €3,100 was raised for each of the two charities - St Patrick’s Special Needs School (new school project) and Wexford Hospice Homecare.

Our tournament director, Vandra Deacon worked tirelessly so that everything worked efficiently on the day. Many thanks to her, Bill Kelly and Pauline Power of Kelly’s Resort Hotel, our Pro Jamie O’Sullivan, Sponsors, club staff, volunteers and all those involved.

We would like to say a big thank you to our out-going Junior Lady-Captain Emma Fenlon and welcome our new Junior Lady-Captain Mary Kate Donohoe. We wish Mary Kate Donohoe, Ella Conroy and Anna Ryan all the best after qualifying for The Mid-Leinster Girls Masterclass 2017 in the Heritage Golf Club on September 16.
