Piercetown Moll romps home for her 19th victory in style

-

THERE was a good graded card last Thursday night and the star performance of the night was that of ‘Piercestown Moll’, owned by Shanks Whelan, Piercestown, who was winning her 19th race when she broke well and led and was never in any danger after that recording a very fast 28.56.

On the Monday night, the Paradise Madison unraced N1/2 saw a new concept, the first of its kind at the track as all the unraced stakes have been open before this event to my knowledge.

There were three first round heats taking place and the Piercestown kennel was again to the fore here when ‘Piercestown Iron’ was a very easy winner of heat two when running out a clear five-length winner in a good 29.05.

Heat one saw the Gordon Murray owned ‘Ketch Up Snoopy’ grab the lead down the back from ‘Piercestown Roe’ and went on to score by five lengths in a good 29.13.

Heat three went to the very impressive ‘Kingsmill Racer’, owned by John Roche, who put in a challenge down the back and came home well to score snugly in the end.

The second round continues this week along with the first round of the Horse and Hound Tri-Distance due to get underway.
