SINCERE THANKS

Tadhg, Colm and Brídín wish to thank most sincerely the friends and neighbours of the late Nancy Garvey, for their support and generosity during their recent bereavement. It is something they will always remember with affection and gratitude.

Nancy’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated in St David’s Church Johnstown on Saturday, September 16, at 6.30 p.m.

TIDY TOWNS

The Tidy Towns results are expected to be announced in the next week or two and the group is forward to a high mark this year. Please help to keep our village clean by helping to pick up all litter which may be blowing around.

The Tidy Towns Committee would like to offer a very sincere thanks to everyone who contributed and helped out on the stalls and brought many saleable items to their stalls on last Sunday which was very much appreciated and helped in a big way to raise further funds for the Tidy Towns group.

BIRTHDAYS

Congratulations to Jack Scallan, Kilahurler, who celebrated his first birthday on Wednesday, September 6. Good wishes also Michelle Hughes, Ballylacey, whose birthday was on September 3. Also good wishes to Darby Guilfoyle, Moneyribbon, who celebrated his eighth birthday on Monday, September 4. Congratulations to Sarah Mary Hempenstall-Byrne Moneyribbon, whose third nirthday is on Saturday, September 16.

COOLGREANY DRAMA

On Tuesday the 26th, Wednesday and Thursday, September 27 and 28, there will be a night of Tennessee Williams plays at St Mogue’s Hall Inch. Tickets €10 at the door. Doors open 7.30 p.m. Complimentary, tea and Home Made Cakes as usual. Bookings: 087 2411926.

Plays are starring Sally Stevens, Maggie Murphy, Carl Nuzum, Paula Breen D’Arcy, Finola Montgomery, Sheila O’Kelly and George Percival and directed by Ned Dempsey and Eamonn O’Shiel.

There was no winner of the lottery this past week, the jackpot currently stands at €12,000, lotto tickets are available locally at €2, in Shorts, Coolgreany post office, O’Rafferty’s and Liam Clare. A new prize format is now in now in place, with no match 3’s, No Bonus Numbers, instead there is now seven lucky Dips worth €30 each, and one seller’s prize. Your support is very much appreciated by the club.
