CLONEE LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Clonee LGFC are holding their annual clothes collection on September 16, donations (clothes, shoes, belts, bags etc) can be brought on the day, or given to a committee member on training nights.

BRIDGE CLUB

Ferns bridge club will resume the weekly card game in Scoil Naomh Maodhog, Ferns on Tuesday, September 12, 17 at 7.30 p.m. Looking forward to seeing as many members as possible after the summer break.

ST PIO MASS

The annual healing Mass at St Aidan’s Ferns will take place on Friday, September 22, at 7.30 p.m. Blessings with the relics of Saint Pio will be administer­ed.

SCHOOL OF DANCE

Irish dancing classes resumed after the summer holidays on Tuesday, September 5, in Ferns community centre. Beginners’ class is from 5 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. All beginners welcome. For more details contact Deirdre at 087 6487684.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT­2

The associatio­n resumes after the summer break. The monthly meeting will be held in the Courtyard on Thursday, September 14, at 2.30 p.m. We look forward to varied activities each month and would welcome new members.

CONCERT

This year’s annual concert takes place on Wednesday, November 8, in Ferns Parish Church. The performing artists this year are Louise Morrissey returning by popular demand, Gerry Guthrie and Theresa and the Stars. Tickets for the event will be €10. Members of the parish council and the parish office will have tickets available from early September.

TOMBRACK NS

On Friday, September 1, Tombrack NS welcomed three new pupils into junior infants, M.J. Davitt, Michael O’Neill and Saoirse Hyland. They were joined by Kayla Andre a new student in sixth class. We wish all our pupils a happy and productive year.

WHIST AT CWCW

There will be a whist drive in St Anthony’s Unit, Bellefield CWCW on September 29 at 8 p.m. The top score is €40 and tea will be served.
