KILTEALY CELTIC

There was plenty of supporters at the soccer pitch in Kiltealy village on Sunday, September 3, when Kiltealy Celtic Soccer team had their first match of the season in the Wexford league, they defeated Bree utd by six nil. The team lined out in their new green and white jerseys sponsored by the Thatch where they celebrated their win afterwards.

FREE EXERCISE CLASSES

There will be six free exercise classes for 55 to 65 age group in the indoor complex in Coolree beginning on Friday, September 29, at 6.30 p.m. The classes will have fun and educationa­l elements. Places are limited so if interested contact Deirdre at 087 9107157.

KILTEALY DEVELOPMEN­T

Kiltealy Developmen­t Group summer fundraisin­g from Park Fest, trolly in SuperValu, yoga morning and circuit training raised €3,750.

Total raised to date is €16,631. Thanks to everyone who run fundraiser­s and supported and helped in any way to have a Community Park in our village.

KILTEALY ICA

The first meeting following the summer recess of Kiltealy ICA was held in Kiltealy Hall on Thursday night last chaired by guild president Eileen Brennan, who opened the meeting with a prayer and welcomed all back after the summer break. There was a full attendance of members. Secretary Elizabeth read the minutes of the previous meeting and dealt with correspond­ence.

Among the items on the agenda for discussion was the annual Craft Fair run by Kiltealy Cardiac Response which will take place on Sunday, November 26, raffle winner on the night was Biddy O’Leary and competitio­n winner for the nicest cruet set was Marie Coleman.

Hostesses were Elizabeth Armstrong, Kathleen O’Leary and Marie Coleman, who served a lovely tea.

Competitio­n for October is the nicest candle stick.

ROSDILLIG VINTAGE RALLY

The annual Rosdillig Vintage Rally close to Rathanna village takes place on Sunday next, September 17, at 2 p.m. Opening will be by well known TV3 chef Edward Hayden.

Attraction­s on the day will include – Tractor pulling, threshing with many mills threshing, Farrier at work, bread and butter making with Breda McDonald, flowers by Anna, baby show, dog show and all the usual side shows and stalls, not forgetting children’s corner.

Dancing with Declan and music by Theresa and the Stars. Tea available on the field from 1 p.m. onwards. There will be a huge display of vintage cars, tractors and stationary engines and big steam engines. There will be a big screen in the yard for football enthusiast­s to watch the all-Ire- land football final.

But a little sad note, this is the final Rosdillig Rally, so after 30 years the organisers are hanging up their jackets, but above all they would like to express a huge thanks to all their vintage fans, friends, volunteers and neighbours who made this rally famous over the years.

SPEECH AND DRAMA

Speech and Drama classes will resume today, Tuesday, September 12, in Ballindagg­in Community Hall at 2.45 to 3.45 p.m. These classes are not only fun but a great way to improve confidence, creativity and communicat­ion skills. HORSE CANTER

The Ballindagg­in annual Horse Canter which is held on the last Sunday in September every year will take place as usual this year on Sunday, September 24, and the organising committee look forward to your continued support for this great event. For informatio­n contact Clare at 087 6800919.

DUFFRY ROVERS HORSE CANTER

Duffry Rovers annual horse canter will be on Sunday next September 17, starting point club grounds Coolree at 10 a.m. Enjoy a great day out on horseback around scenic countrysid­e.

ST. PADRE PIO

There will be a concelebra­ted healing Mass in St Aidan’s Church, Ferns on Friday, September 22, at 7.30 p.m. with individual blessing with the glove of Padre Pio. Confession­s available throughout. Celebrants Fr S Kelly OFM, parish priest Fr P Cushen and Fr R Redmond.

WEXFORD DYSPRAXIA

Are you a working with children qith Dyspraxia (Developmen­tal Co-ordination Disorder)? There will be an informativ­e one day workshop led by Sharon Drew (internatio­nal trainer and well known author of practical resources for schools in UK.
