Dis­qual­i­fied for six months

A drink drive of­fence led to a con­vic­tion and six month driv­ing ban for Conor O’Brien from Bal­li­nakill, Bal­ly­car­ney when he at­tended Gorey Court.

Judge Gerard Haughton also dealt with a speed­ing sum­mons brought against the same de­fen­dant who was clocked at 174 km/h on the N11 at Crory in Ferns.

The ex­cess al­co­hol of­fence oc­curred in Oyle­gate on Fe­bru­ary 18 (fine €400) and the speed­ing was de­tected nine days later (fine €300).

O’Brien told the court he worked at Slaney Meats.
