Maths Week is here

MORE than 7,000 stu­dents from 20 Wex­ford schools have so far reg­is­tered to take part in Maths Week, which runs from Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 14, to Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 22.

Billed as the world’s largest fes­ti­val of maths and nu­mer­acy, world-renowned math­e­ma­ti­cians will be on hand to en­ter­tain peo­ple of all ages with the won­der of maths through fun and in­ter­est­ing talks, games, teasers, chal­lenges and magic maths shows.

Schools across Wex­ford have so far reg­is­tered 7,130 stu­dents, out of 250,000 na­tion­wide, to take part, with many more ex­pected to make it the big­gest Maths Week cel­e­bra­tion to date.

County Wex­ford schools reg­is­tered so far are: Boolavogue NS, David­stown NS, Glynn NS, Gorey Ed­u­cate To­gether, Mercy NS, Wex­ford, Mon­ageer NS, New Ross Ed­u­cate To­gether, Our Lady of Fa­tima School, Our Lady of Lour­des NS, Oyle­gate NS, Saint Leonards, Scoil Ghor­máin Naofa, Scoil Mhuire, Our Lady’s Is­land, Screen NS, SN Seosamh Naofa, Bree NS, St Mar­garet’s NS, Cur­r­a­cloe, St Se­nan’s NS, St Ai­dan’s NS, En­nis­cor­thy, Bridgetown Col­lege, Coláiste an Atha, Coláiste Bride, Creagh Col­lege, FCJ Bun­clody, Gorey Com­mu­nity School, St Marys, New Ross, and St Mary’s CBS.
