AN ENNISCORTHY man has managed to avoid a drugs conviction in exchange for making a donation to the Cornmarket Project in Wexford town.
David Jordan (26) of Milehouse Road pleaded guilty to possessing €30 worth of cannabis when stopped by gardaí at Templeshannon on April 3 last.
Solicitor Lana Doherty told the court that it was a first offence and that her client apologised to the court. She said that he had ambitions to travel one day and asked the Judge to leave Jordan without a conviction.
Judge Haughton agreed to do this and apply the Probation Act in exchange for a €200 donation to the Cornmarket Project.
