Motorist(66) escapes ban for insurance offence

Enniscorthy Guardian - - NEWS -

JUDGE Gerard Haughton opted to exercise his discretion not to ban a 66-year-old woman from driving after she appeared before the court on a no insurance charge.

Bridget Kehoe of Craan, Bunclody, was charged with driving without insurance at Bunclody on May 10 of last year.

The court heard that the defendant had another vehicle insured at the time and foolishly opted to drive a different car.

Solicitor Peter Crean asked for the leniency of the court saying that his client had 40 years of clean driving under her belt and was a farmer living rurally.

Judge Haughton agreed not to ban Kehoe, but handed her a €300 fine.
