Kids have a ball at schools soccer camp!

Enniscorthy Guardian - - NEWS -

MAKING the most of their mid-term break, local kids had a ball as they took part in the Schools Soccer Coaching Scheme Halloween Camp. Always a hit with the youngsters, given the time of year this camp focused on some spooky Halloween activities.

Over 30 children were in attendance over the four days at the Gaelscoil in Drumgoold and were kept busy with plenty of sporting activities along with pumpkin carving and a fancy dress day for Halloween.

The group also made the journey to Blackwater Open Farm for a special day out that was the highlight for many of the little ones as they got some hands-on experience with the animals kept there and enjoyed the massive outdoor play area.

Organiser of the camp, Cllr John O’Rourke wished to thank Judy Heffernan and the Board of Management at the Gaelscoil for the use of their excellent facilities over the course of the four days, along with all of the volunteers who came along to coach, take part and supervise the madness.

Special thanks were also reserved for Ger Mackey and Wexford County Council for their continued support of what is a completely voluntary scheme. The camps continue to go from strength to strength with more planned for 2018. People are asked to keep an eye out and to contact Cllr O’Rourke for details of upcoming camps.
