Bench war­rant for woman

A BENCH WAR­RANT was is­sued for the ar­rest of Emma Fry of 33 Ard na Greine, The Bal­lagh, af­ter she failed to ap­pear be­fore the court in re­la­tion to a string of mo­tor­ing of­fences.

Fry was charged with driv­ing with­out a li­cence or in­sur­ance and three counts of fail­ing to pro­duce doc­u­ments af­ter be­ing stopped by Gar­daí at Castlel­lis, Black­wa­ter on May 22 last. When Fry failed to ap­pear, Judge opted to al­low gar­daí go ahead with the case. Garda Vin­cent Downes went through the ev­i­dence and Judge Haughton opted to con­vict.

When the Judge was in­formed that Fry had three pre­vi­ous con­vic­tions for no in­sur­ance, how­ever, he is­sued a bench war­rant for her ar­rest, but or­dered that the con­vic­tion be noted.
