No drink? Snow problem!

- By PÁDRAIG BYRNE

WHILE all the talk ahead of the storm for some reason surrounded the stock piling of bread, people ventured out in the thickest of thick snow on Friday to pick up the REAL essentials as Reid’s Off Licence opened its doors on the Main Street.

While it may have been difficult to get to, loyal customers made sure they were stocked up on beer and wine to ward off the cabin fever and a queue formed outside onto the street on Friday afternoon.

In a post on their Facebook page, management said ‘I don’t think we expected to be as busy today! Thank you so much to all of our customers for their custom today and we would also like to thank everyone for their patience, we really appreciate it!’

They also thanked Jim O’Connor for snapping the unusual scene as customers gathered outside.

It was one of very few businesses to open its doors in town on Friday, much to the gratitude of those heading away with bags of drink to try and stave off cabin fever for a few hours!
